The Royal Family

I titled this painting "The Royal Family" because it features three royal women. I discovered this small sepia photo from 1901, taken at a station in Western N.S.W. What really caught my eye was the handwritten inscription right on the photo. Reading it made me appreciate how proud and beautiful these women looked, even though they were reduced to the role of servants.
